PENNIES FOR PATIENTS

The Student Ambassadors group is starting their spring service project: Pennies for Patients. Pennies for Patients supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Students will be able to bring in their monetary donations from May 8-26.  There is a donation box right inside the front door where students can place their coins in their grade level section.  Grade levels will be competing to see who can raise the most to support those who are battling cancer. On May 12 students who pay $1.00 can wear a hat that day.  On May 19 the Student Ambassadors will be hosting an ice cream social at recess where students can purchase a one scoop cone for $1.00, and a two scoop cone for $2.00.
The Ambassadors have set a goal of $1,000 and if that happens they have a silly costume for the principal to wear on May 31!

THE SIXTH GRADE EXHIBITION

Our sixth graders are busy researching and collaborating in their small groups to prepare for their presentations during the Exhibition on June 1.  The student groups will present to various classrooms throughout the morning. preschool PRESCHOOL OPTION AT SCANDIA ELEMENTARY!

The Early Childhood Program is an integral part of Forest Lake Area Schools. We work together to assure that children transition smoothly into kindergarten. Our high quality preschool classes focus on each child's social, physical and pre-academic development. We use a play-based curriculum allowing children to learn through exploration and discovery. Children develop independence and the necessary skills for future success. Children will learn age appropriate math, writing, music, art, language and science while making friends and experimenting with their growing independence. Curriculum outcomes and objectives are aligned with the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress. Classes are taught by professional and dedicated staff who have experience working with children birth to age five.
Scandia Elementary IB World School is offering Full Day Child Only Preschool on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:15-3:30. Transportation will be offered to students who are on a current bus route.
